More fluffy does mean more better.I currently have my Blue wheaten roo in with my BBS Orpingtons, I have not hatched any, it was just a spot to put him while the girls are waiting for their new boyfriend. Might be a neat combo.![]()
My hubby is an enabler. He can't say no considering his hobby is way more expensive then mine. At least mine earns their keep. His doesn't.

Can I see a picture?
Gosh do I remember that! It was just the most beautiful thing to see. I felt like I hadn't seen so much before, and now I could see everything! It's been 15 years for me. I still have no need for a prescription. I do have the aging eyes that need reading glasses, but magnifying glasses has taken care of that. Congratulations!
We have tons of barnyard blends! Over the years we've brought in new Roos to see what we get colorwise it's been a lot of fun and we have learnt quite a bit about breeding from it. Our mutts also lay awesome eggs that we sell to feed the whole flock. Now that the kiddo is looking towards more specific breeds we are starting to weed out the mutts. I sold 150 of them just last week. We will still have a variety of colors because he will still have different breeds, but we are also getting some wonderful landrace breeds and those come in a multitude of colors and of course someone is going to have a color we don't. MINE!
I think a very cold hardy breed like icelandics would be a great assortment of colors for you. Especially if they are mottled, but SFHs come in every color and shade possible. I think they look like a paint factory exploded all over them. They have speckles and snips of color everywhere! Everyone that sees them on our farm are just amazed at their colors.
As soon as I get home i will post pics of the orps... I think they are in my profile... The bkue wh am roo I will have to take a pic of
