I hope your mom feels better
I'm upset, I went out of town just for one night, and asked my husband to make sure the chickens got locked up. He closed up the run and said the chickens wher in.
Last night I got home and checked on then, and I am missing a black copper Marian pullet

They are three months old and kind of stubborn about roosting in the coops, so I usually have to pick them up and put them in the coop, which I didn't explain to my husband. I am pretty sure a coon got her, since in October I lost 5 pullets to a coon in three days. Since then I have had a trap set (caught two coons) and make sure they are actually in the coops instea of just locked in the run.
I'm mad because I have three cockerels and only two pullets that age... An of course I lost a pullet.

I Pm'ed you. I will share.

I'm so sorry! It's so unfair, but like you I only seem to lose pullets to predators!

So sorry about your pullet, Sahwithchicks! I've found that anytime I don't explain something very specifically to DH, he either won't do anything, or he just does what he thinks he should, which I think we all know is never right ;)

On another note:
Anyone have pink egg layers?

Thank you all. My husband just doesn't really like my obsession with chickens... And he sure doesn't keep track of the ones I have (although if a new one shows up, he sure notices!!) so it really is my fault for not telling him to count them an lock them in the coop. I had thought about before leaving, but I hoped for the best. I should have asked him to at least count the chickens to make sure they are all in!! Stupid me!
