I was just about to ask what size pen would a trio need.
While we are on that subject, I have 7 calico cochin bantams. How big of a pen will I need for 5 of these (others are extra roos)? I normally give my quads a run that is 8X32, but don't think these little guys will need nearly that amount of room. LOL Would my Buttercup pen that has a house 4X6 with an attached run of 6X16 be big enough? I need to move the Buttercups anyway as the numbers of them are expanding with all of them going broody.

Plenty big. I have a quad of bantam orps in a 8x5. bantams don't need nearly the amount of room LF need.

Quote: I have my bantams in tractors...I think they are 2 1/2 long in the coop and the yard is 3 footlong and they are 2 1/2 wide ....and I think its nearly 3 foot tall. would have to go out and look on DH's notepad to be sure, but that's pretty close, plenty big enough for a trio or quad

Had to skip a few pages this morning.

So had a lovely phone call from a buyer this morning. They had bought goslings, we shipped, the USPS lost the box and the birds arrived dead. Filed a claim, the buyers post master cant off their rear to do their job and kept insisting I had to fax her paperwork. UUMM NO I filed online with USPS. All the post master had to do was varify the dead birds and box they shipped in. So the buyer is upset asking why I wont ship replacements. UUMM we dont ship free birds. They keep repeating but I paid for birds, yes you did, and the PO killed them in transit. When I explain AGAIN that the PO has to pay the claim before we will issue a refund or replacements I get this. "Well if it goes badly I will be issuing feedback on you" I ask where they think they will be doing that? "BYC". So the buyer thinks threatening me this morning that if I dont send new birds no matter what the USPS does or they will give me negative feed back here on BYC is a way to get me to want to continue to work with them. First..........they bought from our farms website through email, not on here. Second stating anything other than we shipped them the three birds they paid for and filed a claim with the USPS when they failed to deliver them on time would be slander and I am now mad as an old wet hen.

Its sad the crap RBA lets go on, but this kind of crap goes both ways and happens even in direct sales.

Word to the wise.........when a private breeder is ACTUALLY working with you, dont threaten them if the case with the USPS doesnt go your way as buyer.
