I love chocolates!!! They are so cute! My chicks that I have hatched from my girls are extremely hyper though. When you open their cage they jump about 1 1/2 feet in the air and run around like.....well..... a chicken with its head cut off.

krafty, I don't have any Palms, the ones I have hatched I have sold...if no one else here has them to ship, check out Porter Turkeys, they have awesome birds...poults are 12.00 each. I don't know what they charge to ship but shouldn't be too bad and there's a live guarantee. So I am thinking that may be the best way for your hubbys friend to get the birds he wants.
My stupid Narrie hen, kept trying to set on one single egg, so I caught her off the nest yesterday and put some eggs I had in the bator in the nest...went out this morning and she was off the nest and had eaten one of the eggs
So I gathered the rest of them up and put them back in the bator, hopefully I got them in time.![]()
And I got a message from the person with the Jubie eggs, and they have shipped out 5....the PO won't be too hard on them.![]()
Also received my Rhodes and Orps from GFF....not to figure out what kind of Orps they sent. I will post some pics in a bit and maybe you guys can help me figure it out.
cheep with eggs? If you want a bunch of egg BUY THEM, these birds arent cheap to grow out, select the best (if any) to keep, to build a breeding pair, trio, flock. To feed, and then there is some breeds who individual birds cost a fortune to invest in for the "chance" to have something worth breeding.
some breeds dont lay well, some breeds take FOREVER to grow out to even get egg 1. Before you call someone cheap, you need to look at ALL the factor that went into getting that single egg, let alone 3, 4, 6
Sorry but i get very upset when I see statements like that.
Not to detract from the expense of birds here, but all was just talking about the fact someone could not even get a 3 egg order they paid for on rba. She isn't disparaging swappers or calling us chintsy.
I think the comment was taken a bit out of context and was not ment the way it is being taken.
Second picture is partridge for sure. I think the the first picture is whites.
it is a risk, I knew it going in...but luckily, I have at least four 6 week olds right now, and I am thinking the last picture in my prior post are Jubies, if they do well then if I get one or two chicks out of 5 eggs that they are sending then I will have ten or eleven...lolIMO a 3 egg auction is like stealing (sorta) shipped eggs dont perform well on average anyways. So say you get a 50% hatch on 3 eggs (since you dont get half a chick you end up with 1 chick) so now you spent money and have 1 chick. What good is ONE of a breed when you need to grow out at minimum 10 to select one to be worth using to breed. Again just my opinion
Quote: do white orps have gray on them? The only white chicken I have to compare to are my White Rhodes, and they had no gray on them![]()
