Just stick with it.
In our recent kitchen remodel, we bought a micro/conv/wall unit from the Sears Outlet store (turns out they sell the products, but are actually not affliated). Anyway, it was a $4,000 unit and we bought it for $1,200. It was a customer return and the exact unit I wanted but was unwilling to pay $4K. I NEVER buy extended warranties, but since it was a return item, I sprang for the $300 5-yr service contract.
When we had it installed, it worked briefly and stopped. After 3 service calls they fixed it. It worked a week and stopped again. This time the service guy said, DO NOT use this, it's non-repairable and could be a fire hazard. After several phones calls and "not our responsibility" from the Outlet Store, the warranty people and Sears...................Sears decided to eat the cost and brought us out a brand-new unit (the same model), installed it (we never paid for the install since we had a contractor) and hauled away the old one. Once they decided to honor the sale, it took less than 3 days and it was installed and we were done.
At one point they just wanted to give us the $1200 credit for a new unit or refund our money. I pointed out our brand-new cabinets had been cut to fit this particular over-sized unit and the "totally checked out unit" they sold was declared a fire hazard by their own service people. "Want to pay to replace my house anyone?"
We ended up with a brand-new $4K unit for $1.5K, including the 5-yr service contract.
It was worth the few dozen phone calls I had to make.
