They don't sit in a PO over the weekend. Mail is constantly moving, 24/7. My dad drives a mail truck and delivers mail to the different local state PO/sort stations. Even when the PO is closed, mail is moving.
Yes, I agree with madamwlf. I prefer to have eggs mailed to me on Friday or Saturday because I generally get them on Monday.

Just to let you all know. Now that I have some time again, I am watching the swaps and every time I step away from my computer someone "dares" to put something up that I need.

Now I have a headache. I have 300 plus of very lazy birds currently so don't have eggs available currently but I am expecting Cream Legbar eggs any minute.

I have my first set of Bantam olive egger eggs from gamebirdsonly in lockdown. Today is Day 19. So looking forward to these guys.

Several of the shipped eggs I have received have been packed in the same way I saw in a video on here. I can't find the video now....but it is my preferred way of receiving eggs. Each egg is wrapped in bubble wrap(big bubble type)..ends open. Then the eggs are taped together like a six pack. Then that is bubble wrapped. The box is lined on all sides with crumpled newspaper firmly. I've had the best luck with these eggs. My least favorite way of receiving them has been in egg cartons...cracked/broken eggs seem to always be present.
I always appreciate the eggs being marked, and I loved it when one person wrote on the inside box lid a translation for the abbreviations (GL = Golden Lakenvelder) and a chick description for each type I ordered.

I too assumed if I ordered or sent eggs on a Saturday, they would end up sitting. Good to know.

Anybody interested in swapping the following (only non hatchery stock)
Any Sussex
Golden Laced Polish
White crested black/Blue Polish
BLRW
Silkie
BBS Orp

My first hatch from the swap!!
I see you hatch in egg cartons. Do you think it helps? I have some eggs that need to go into lockdown tonight. My first two hatches I lost a couple of chicks in each hatch do to being turned upside down by lively chicks in the incubator.
