Another chatty afternoon, sheesh!! I need to shower and go to bed...

BUT... I have NO idea but I would still like to guess on those chicks.... #1- gold laced orp or brahma, #2 birchen maran, #3 tolbunt polish, #4 hedemora.... haha, I probably lost the guessing game, but oh well... I bet GFF doesn't have all those breeds up on their website because they can't offer them for sell yet... sounds like they are definitely experiencing growing pains, tho...

OH... the sulmtalers... I think either juststruttin or papabrooder has them on their websites...... It really is noteworthy that you mods are trying to make up for the losses many of us have experienced

Those are so not marans.

Marans are particularly ugly when they are chickasaurs. Those at not nearly scary enough. Plus no black skin, 5 toes .

anything that is an Orpington is beautiful. Ok, so I am biased...so what!?!? But then Polish are beautiful, SFH are beautiful, Ameraucanas are beautiful, Cochins are beautiful.... ummm I could keep going... but instead I am going to bed! Nite all.....

Here is my candler my son came up with the idea and it works.

All the tools you need a water bottle top (I cut it bigger with a utility knife and then marked it and cut the rest with scissors) Electric tape and a flashlight.



Cut the top to fit the top of your flashlight. I have used bigger flashlights and it works fine with them... just focuses the light.



I start the tape at the bottom to attach the cap to the flashlight and work my way up make sure you cover the cap really well so no light is getting out to blind you.



Here is a view from the top after it cap is on.



This is a Marans egg, these are eggs I was going to put in the bator... should have used some with babies in them already

Another thing I do... I use the 30 egg trays for my incubator and I just take the tray into the bathroom (dark room no window) and I just put the flashlight over the top of the eggs, that way I don't have to pick them up and possible drop the eggs..... It also goes really quick.

My goodness you guys were chatty last night. Sorry but I can't help identify the chicks. I sure hope GFF can help you on that. Seems a shame they send out mystery chicks but won't tell you what they are. Responsible breeders would make sure you knew what you had so you didn't guess and maybe make a mistake.
