as soon as we finish getting moved and everything is complete, I am gonna work on my NPIP status as well.

As with other SWAPS we are not going to require NPIP but if you have it and want to post it for others who might want to only accept NPIP you should do so.

If someone wants to open a NPIP only swap you are welcome to do so, I believe the only requirement to open a swap is to "be a member in good standing".

As for shipping chicks we will try it if someone offers it and if there are problems it can be discontinued as an option. I would urge everyone to please use common sense when shipping chicks just as with shipping eggs be sure you know what you are offering and accepting. If there is a glaring mistake made, such as chicks being stuffed into a shoe box with a couple of stamps stuck on it 1st class mail then the shipper will be asked to remedy the situation before they are allowed to swap again. Yes there have been cases on this swap where eggs were placed in an egg carton and shoved into a priority mail ENVELOPE and shipped. The shipper was asked to send proper replacements or paypal before they could swap again.

We are all adults here and are participating freely in this swap I don't want to have to impose a bunch of rules on everyone.

Sounds like a great plan.
It's so crazy I was just talking to my spouse about having a "chick swap"! I'm so stoked!!!!

P.S. I wouldn't mind being the Guinea "Hen" to experiment on when it comes to sending chick!

I'm sure I will be offering chicks in the Spring, even if I am up all night until they arrive, what better excuse to stay up all night and read about chickens?

Just a lurker on this thread, but not fast enough on the swap thread.

You all need to tell me the secret of how you can post so fast! I'll never get any tolbunt eggs! I think a chick swap is a good idea. Maybe I can swap all these brahma chicks I have!

Just type "mine" and hit enter as fast as you possibly can. Of course, "refresh" is used A LOT too!

P.S.-Madamwlf has ALL the "sought after" breeds! CJWaldon has a few too! You can type "mine" as soon as someone claims something, but be prepared in case it isn't what you want! I can just see Madamwlf claiming something, Rachael posting "mine!" and Madamwlf offering black sexlinks for a joke!
