I am sorry this happened. Personally, I got pregnant before I was ready to have kids (just before I turned 23) because I was still in party mode. However, it was the absolute bet thig for me. I was completely irresponsible and was way too heavy of a partyer... But then I found a reason to behave and straighten up.
That doesn't mean it is best for people to have kids early, it just turned out well for me. Some people really deserve to enjoy their young adult years... I just over enduldge.
Maybe she is lying about it? I not, I hope you guys can find a way to deal with it :(

This is almost exactly what happened to me; I was 22 and still in "party" mode as well when I got pregnant for my first son. It certainly wasn't purposeful and we were very young and TERRIFIED. My husband (BF at the time) proposed then, but I wouldn't marry him because I didn't want anyone to think it was just because of the situation. We got married when our son was 4 1/2 and it was because we both wanted to rather than because it was expected. I have the most wonderful hubby ever! We have been very happily married for nearly 11 years and have 2 sons (15 & 9).

Sometimes situations that seem very bad when they first happen end up being wonderful. That is my wish for your son, madam!

I'm hoping it does go well for them.

Oh I like that answer too.

I like option 4 - to have an extra as a dedicated hatcher (but I already had 2 genesis hovabators and one Little Giant with a fan installed) I really have trouble passing up a good deal....

A Trio of Swedish Olandsk Dwarfs it will be... I am going to wait until after Christmas rush to have them shipped. How long after Christmas would you wait??? I WANT THEM NOW but am really afraid of shipping during the holidays......

Ok, I just have to post some pics. I had 4 silkies hatch from Marie's porcelain pen and 2 chicks hatch from my Olandsk Dwarf pair on my birthday this weekend. I had 2 other chicks hatch from my bantam Cochins, but I think the Cochins were covered by my OD cockerel. They are adorable, but I don't have pics yet. Awesome present!

In the silkie pics, you might be able to see that 2 of the chicks have hobbles made from vet wrap. Those 2 were shrink wrapped and had to have assistance hatching. The darker grey one had pretty bad splayed legs, but the butter colored one was actually much worse. One of her legs was straight behind her. The toes on her left foot were completely curled and the toes on the right foot were almost at an upward angle and wouldn't move. I really thought we would have to end her misery, but I put her in a tiny cup to hold her legs in the correct position and massaged her toes a few times the first day to get the blood moving. They hatched Saturday, and by Sunday she was standing in her cup with her feet uncurled. I put little hobbles on both the chicks to help support them until their bones harden and they are running around like there was never anything wrong! So adorable!

Has anyone else noticed their silkie eggs losing moisture at higher rates than other eggs? I am wondering if the shells are more porous or something. I dry hatch until lockdown and the silkies were the only ones to have problems with shrink wrapping. The air cells were huge by the time they hatched! Poor chickies didn't have room to turn. :(

You will just LOVE the Olandsk Dwarfs! I REALLY want a few more pullets. I am down to only 1 pair because of a nasty hawk earlier this year, but I did hatch out 2 of their chicks this weekend!
