It could be worse, tell him I've had termites shipped to me for my frogs. And I've dug through old firewood piles to collect them. You want me to post a link on how to culture them? LOL

Deb
That's quite ok. We had to deal with termites in our barn and that was more than enough for me. I should have called you to come down and remove them for me :) Make those frogs earn their way.

I'm giving up mealworms to do roaches. So much easier and they breed quicker too.

I think that breeding quicker thing is probably what worries him. I have a pretty good production line going with the mealworms and have hubster trained now to give them his apple cores and some of the compost veggies. So I'll just stick with the known creepy crawlers for now.

I think I could handle mealworms, they don't move too fast... but something about cockroaches...

Dubia roaches are not like your common house roach. They are from the middle east area, require higher humidity and heat to reproduce, can't survive cold winters, can't climb smooth surfaces, reproduce fast and can become another source of income. They aren't really that creepy looking like the pest roach is.

Heck, I could probably replace one of the mealworm tubs with these and hubby would never even notice the difference until it was too late. Food for thought...
