Hatching Eggs / Paypal CHAT Thread

Well I just checked my silver pencil rocks in lock down and nothing yet. I will be so sad if none hatch. I was really looking forward to these, they are so pretty. I am being impatient, hatch day is today so they have time. I tossed the 8 duck eggs. 12 days in and NONE showed any kind of development. They were very easy to see in and I could see the yolk and everything, but no veining and no chick development. My eggs from Papa Brooder look to be doing well though!

Happy New Year everyone! I retired early after the mass craziness around here last night. I am still searching for some good eggs I can get in Feb or March. I'm sick of finding filthy, unhealthy birds at farms near me. I need blrw, splash silkies, cream legbars, and lf choc orps. Now that hubby has seen porcelain d'uccles this weekend--we are looking to find a pair or trio near starting. If not, I guess he will just have to settle for eggs. The d'uccles at the farm we visited were well bred, but not taken care of.

I will be stalking the threads for swaps or side swaps!

Please PM me if you have any of these we could swap for PP.

Stalk the swaps. I have CCLs but they're on strike and I'm behind on my swaps. The NJs are on strike, too.
My Blues didn't like the cold snap either. I was getting 3 eggs a day from 3 pullets until two days after the cold hit. Now it is 1 a day again. I'm not sure if it is the cold or the frozen waterers. We were thawing them twice a day, but that may not have been enough. Hopefully they will pick back up again now that we are above freezing and the snow from Christmas is finally melting off.

Oh no! Just woke up and realized we don't have any power. I bet someone knocked over the phone pole again by our house last night sometime. It's a really right curve and a couple times a year someone going to fast plows into it. Got a phone call from pg and e telling me about. Not good. That means its gonna be a while. My incubator is full and likely has been without power for 6 hours. It could easily be all day before power is back on. Also have so many chicks needing hear lamp!! Aargh. Not sure what to do but wait and hope for the best. Also it's about 30 degrees outside so garage and barn are prob about 40-45 degrees. That's where all the chicks are. Oh boy!
