I free range mine during the winter. So they are hiding their eggs from me. lol

My silkies are out laying everyone. I get one egg from my Legbar coop and that's from one of the Marans in there. The layers are starting to pick up some but not a lot.

I was getting 5 eggs a day from mine until I had the bright idea of closing up the hardware cloth window and door with plywood to help the coop with retaining heat and now I'm getting nuthin' LOL I wan't thinking about the light. I opened the pop door this morning and no chickens came out. They didn't know it was daytime it was so dark in there! and the light sensor wasn't working for the 2 hours of supplemental light, so I guess to them their day got about 3 hours shorter all of a sudden.

oops. What an idiot. thank goodness Madamwlf is the only one I owe eggs too.

This weekend I am going to the hardware store and looking for a translucent or transparent alternative.
