Well, I finally sold some hens that I wanted to sell. I wanted to get rid of all of the brown laying eggs that aren't cornish cross, lol. That's six hens. I put them up at $10 each or $50 for the group, and got three people who I've been in contact with. One wants me to meet her, but I'm not so sure about that, especially with being tight on cash, if she doesn't show, something happens, she doesn't bring gas money, etc, etc, I'm screwed. Not really worth the gamble for $10. The second guy wants to trade me two female toulouse geese (8 months old) for three hens and some chicks. Another guy was just here to take a look at them, and he definitely wants two, then he wants the leghorn mix, if nothing can be worked out with the lady that wants me to meet her. Since he's just starting, I offered our "spare" Ameraucana rooster for free (he seems like a nice guy, yanno?), but he can't take him because of neighbors and the whole crowing thing, lol. He's thinking about getting a poult in the summer as well for thanksgiving dinner. All in all, he seemed like a nice guy, though he wasn't sure how to hold a chicken, lol. That's probably for the best, since most of the laying girls aren't exactly thrilled by being picked up anyways. Anyways, I'm happy. We need the money more than we do the eggs (we get plenty enough from the rest of the girls), and there's at least one new person in the chicken world who will get to enjoy chickens and GOOD eggs!

Not the greatest pictures but will take more later. One shows the inside of the box a little. I don't think there was a heat pack but there was a cup of grow gel for each one. Currently setting up their brooder that they'll call home as their new coop is being delivered today. Wasn't really expecting them so soon :/

I wish there was something I could do to help, besides offering a hug! Hopefully he finds a better job, and quickly! In the mean time, apply for umm, what is it called? The money you get for losing a job. Unemployment compensation? Whether he got fired, laid off, whatever, he can apply for it and might get it (even if fired). There was a guy at my old job who got fired for numerous cases of sexual harassment, and he got the compensation, until, of course, I had to go in and testify about his sexual harassment. :/ NOT a fun day in my life at all (though I'm sure, much worse for him). Anyways, good luck!!!

I am not as brave as you guys, I don't let anyone near my chickens. They could bring something in on their shoes. I isolate an acre away from my coops and they are last ones done. Then I come in and shower. Yup OCD!
