I started out getting ducks for herding with the dogs. Then some friends wanted to replenish their layer flock so I told them I would hatch some chicks for them when I hatched some Indian Runners for me, I loved the chicks so had to hatch some for myself...then I found the swap thread. Now I have 31 chicks in my basement, 14 in my yard and 34 eggs in my incubator with more on the way. All in the last 5 months!!!
 
began with begging for 2 hahaha finally got them after 2 years of begging... got up to 50 birds then sold some to make some extra cash last summer now I'm down to 20 and hoping to hatch more soon!
 
I love ducklings, they are so cute!! But so messy!!! I am glad I was able to brood mine in a stall at the barn! I had them in my house the first week and they were messy and stinky!
