Just to touch on the 24 hr thing.... since it is so slow right now, I am a little reluctant to even post offers and will no longer post any at night

Shipped eggs.... Sorry about those eggs. I took pictures today while I was packing eggs and will make a page soon. No method is fool proof. While I was at the post office I saw them sorting the big bins..... she was tossing mail across 3 and 4 of those carts they use

you know they don't pay any attention to the markings on the box.

The candling of eggs, I took pics of my flashlight while I was make modification to make it work better on eggs. I use a 400 lumens flashlight I got on Ebay for about $15-20 max with shipping. I can see in Marans eggs and Olive Eggers enough to see what is clear and what is full.

I think that men are BI POLAR when it comes to chickens.... DO you think I would have built a bator that holds 540 eggs if it was just me???????? NO! Cuz I know I can fill it up LOL. He sees the size of the bator as a limitation.... I see it as a LIMITING FACTOR LOL do you see the difference? He would KILL me if I got silkies.... good thing I don't like the little fuzz balls. LF all the way!

ok here we go.... these are not the black chicks I was talking about...but are 2 more of the unknown variety from GFF... the 3rd pic is just for cuteness, and the 4th I beleive will be going to CPL as I think it is a Hedemora roo!

I went off to tractor supply to get some wormer for my goats and come back to over a hundred posts!!!!

OT: got an angora with poopy pants. been trying everything. scared he's gooing to get dehydrated soon, hoping switching wormers might help. being the caretaker for animals is so hard when they cant tell you what's wrong! guess it is similar to human kids...you fret and fret just trying to get it right.

You need to take the goat to the vet, and get blood drawn. I had some goats come down with something like Anaplamosis(sp). Its not called that, but does the same thing. Fly's bites cause the problem, get the bacteria in the blood stream, and wreaks havoc with them. I have had it in my goats, and it will kill a goat. Just like it does a cow. Attacks the red blood cells. When they have an active infection, blood drawn will look more like karo syrup, with hardly and red to it at all. People blame it a lot on worms, and sometimes that just is not the case at all. Have a fecal done too, that way if you do have worms, you can treat for that worm. But, check the blood.

breda have feathered legs, correct? well here is one of the black chickens.... it is feather legged, and then there is one just like it, but is not faether legged... 5 toes

Hmm.... could we get a better photo of the chick's face? My bredas have WAY more feathering than that.. the eyes are similar though. Here is one of my bredas at around the same age.

when i can catch him/her again i will try to take better pictures... do breda's have 5 toes?

what else does GFF have that is gold laced other than orps? I got 1 gold laced orp in the bunch, and it is nothing like that one

Mine don't, but then CAN if they have had Sultan blood added to revive the breed. I've researched the heck out of the breed and have a wonderful long time breeder as a mentor. I love the Bredas!!!!!

Yeah the Bredas have vulture hocks and very pronounced nostrils which I don't see on the mystery chick...could it be a Marans? Oh yeah guess not forgot about the 5 toes.
