Oh no =(

Lone surviving Silkie of the temp-spike bator incident.

5 weeks old

How big should he/she be?
What color would you call this?
It's non-vaulted, will it get a bigger poof/crest on its head?

Apparently she/he is in the "awkward stage" but I think he/she is beautiful. He/she is a pure Silkie - but not in variety. The breeder keeps the Silkies together so the roos are covering many different varieties (some of which aren't recognized yet) including white, black, blue, paint, porcelain and buff.

He/she really did not want to cooperate with me for pictures.

Thus far I'm thinking he/she most resembles a partridge (clearly not a pure variety) but it's the closest color I could find to what he/she is.

LOL! You're either a writer, publisher, or editor :) Or just more well-versed than most people about the publishing world! And I'm surprised -- that's kind of an odd combo with the Case-Shiller index ;-) What do you do that you happen to know about both?

I use "NYT bestseller" when talking generally about my aspirations because it's immediately recognizable ;-)

:) I worked in both distribution and publishing for years until the west cost book industry started to implode. Now I work with a designer in home staging so its real estate.

I'm the chick that does the branding and makes the trains run on time you can do that n any industry.

Its good that you are doing creative publishing, its he wave of the future for that genere.
And secret Santa. Thank you for the lovely items and the great packaging. I'm looking forward to using the sap. Dh ate the tangerines immediately, I got to smell them at least.

My, my chatty again, and FUNNY!!!! Had to skip through the posts, but Redbrush, I was

about what to tell DH about the incubator, HA!!

How do I say, save me some chocolate wyandotte eggs, too???

Candled my NYDH eggs, took 6 out, a few others are questionable, but still the majority are good, at least of the shipped eggs... looks like my Amer cockerels are not doing a good job covering their hens yet, only a few of those eggs are fertile... I'll just have to set some more once these go into lockdown and see if they're being good boys yet, haha...

KYT< I hope your Secret Santa gift shows up!! I think one of the packages you sent me once did that, too, but it ended up at my house, weird...

Look what I woke up to this morning...or maybe more appropriately..Look what woke me up this morning! That little dark one is LOUD!!!

Two more SFH from KHTinpusher!

Congrats. Adorable babies. Don't you just love it when they are so loud they wake you up. My incubator is in another room with the door shut and I can still hear them.
