I am making my Buckeyes right now, and planning to do several more batches of cookies. I only have 4 eggs, so I have to be creative with my cookies. We have 50 MPH winds, snow, and ice on roads, and I was told to stay home.

Oh - I would love to have a fresh baked, still warm cookie. Found out over the summer I am diabetic.

I hate Ice... I don't mind snow but hate ice...

One Arkasas Blue eggs is still viable, not sure on the other one. But all three of the bantam Sicillian Buttercups are still kicking around in there. The smallest eggs in the smallest 'bator are the most lively.

Yeah! I will tell you that the Buttercups are the hardiest chicks I have ever hatched. They pop like popcorn. Pip, zip, out.

My juvenile pair choc Wyandottes just showed up. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THEY HAD BEEN SHIPPED!!!! I have no tracking number. The postmark on the box says they were shipped on 12/19.

Well at least they made it safely as I didn't even know to be looking for them.

Hurray! What a Christmas gift! Now if you just get your "ton" of chicken feed, your wish list is complete, and ours will just be starting because we will be stalking waiting for choco swap eggs.

Hope you have a spot set up for them since you had no notice. I'd be panicking trying to figure out what pen I could put them into.

Rachael got three more Chocolate Orps yesterday (she bought two and they GAVE her a third hen!) and they never sent her a tracking number or told her they were even shipped. They also shipped the 19th.

Me too!  I asked for a "ton" of chicken food.  Then I clarified for DH that would be 40 bags.  But the family wanted to know my wish list NOT chicken related.  I couldn't come up with anything!

Me either! My husband can't think of gifts to save his life, and he keeps asking what I want. There's no point telling him, because he won't get me chicken stuff. That's ok... I told my mom I wanted a gift card to ace for feed and coop building supplies. At least SHE listened!

We actually got in a huge fight last night about chickens. He says chickens are all I care about, and I was mad because its like the only hobby or fun I have, and I tired of him complaining.
I am a stay at home mom, who has very little money to go out and do things for fun, I don't have ANY friends here- we have lived here for a year and I have no idea how to meet people when I don't work. My options for fun are very minimal. Chickens are not only enjoyable for me to watch, hatch and care for, there's also a lifetime of learning and research which I love. He gets to go to work, make friends, and hang out them after work any time he wants (because he does what he wants) so I don't think he realizes how bored and lonely I can get. I love being home with my kids, but it is nice to have something for myself.
I hope he starts trying to understand... I don't plan on stopping just because he won't understand. Sigh.

I have a broody hen! At first I wasn't sure if there was something wrong with her until it dawned on me what was going on. I brought her in the house and gave her some eggs. This is my first one! So exciting!!!

That is so irresponsible of them. What if they got dropped of at your house early and you where gone all day?! Here in the summer they would die of exposure after a couple hours.
