Thanks for all the lovely comments on my Levi! A former student of mine found out that my mobility service dog, Jake, is starting with arthritis and will have to be phased out of working over the next couple years. Not immediately, but it's coming. So she chose Levi for his temperament, and gave him to me to train to replace Jake. Since a mobility dog can't do mobility work until around 18 months old, the timing will work out well. Hubby and I had a lot of conversations about accepting such a valuable gift before we decided to accept him. The giver of Levi is also disabled (far worse than me, she's quadraplegic) and seriously understands what Jake does for me. She's seen me using him at work, and without him in other situations, and she knows the difference. She also understands dogs and the temperament needed for this job. And she really wanted to give me this pup, refusing several offers of payment for him.

He's just about perfect, too. He's going to train well. He's smart, calm, and wonderful.

I'm such a lucky person!

That's an awesome gift and a beautiful dog!

Quote: Thank you, my sister makes soap and she did have goats for a while her husband needs 24 hour care and she has to work so it was a little too much for her. I never saw the benefits of goats milk in soap so I was curious. I have been using a coconut oil soap that I plan to start making and it is wonderful for me. I have some beautiful goats milk soap from reesepoultry but I haven't tried it yet.
