how adorable!
Now why is it on a puppy wrinkles are adorable, and on me they're not so much???

Beautiful puppy, HollowOakFarm!

OMG I am such a sucker for giant breeds....and a blue dane (swoon)
I think our next house dog is going to be a dane. I love them. just need to find a good breeder...well, and We don't need another dog right now, expecially not with Sigfried around (20 month old dane/hound mix) he is a handful. I actually need to go bust him loose from Jail this afternoon...he ran off yesterday and his tags are sitting on my counter, he is an excape artist and SO friendly. he just wants to go play with everyone, even in the middle of the night. and if we forget to BOLT the door...poof, he's gone. I may have to replace doornob with something only a human can open.

See? I need to move NOW

Wish I could...

I never thought about it but maybe ill have to offer some fondant toppers in the next backward swap since COF mentioned cupcakes.
Here are a few including some bovine I made for Jim Heinz a while back.
Who you callin chicken?

Duck duck.....duck

Moo

Ranch

OH WOW. I am NEVER getting married again, AyeUpChuck, but when I do... Can I hire you? That's INCREDIBLE!!!

I LOVE making cakes! A friend and I MAY open a shop a little later in life. I just like working with my hands. I can definitely do goats. The 3d toppers and decorations are always a tad more than the 2d just because of the amount of extra product needed but I'm ALWAYS down to trade these for side trades. I used to offer these in the WYGS thread. COF you should PM me I'd be more than happy to make some things for you as trade!

I miss doing fancy-smancy baking. My littlest was diagnosed with fructose malabsorption, which mean a gluten-free, low fructose diet. I spend my "fun baking" time creating recipes she can eat. By the way - Fructose is in almost EVERYTHING!

What an incredibly nice, cool, friendly, supportive, and more often than not amazingly talented group of people on this thread! I love it. I just wanted to say that :)

Hatch update: three more chickies out, a fourth busily zipping, two more pips that I can see, and 19 more eggs still to hope on! It's still three hours shy of 21 days, so I got lots of hope yet -- except maybe for my duckie. C'mon, duckie!!!!

Okay, off to check the swap thread! Not that I can swap :-( But I gotta go look anyway!

(I am going to post this both here and in the chat thread because I want the most possible people to read it. (selfishly, it is in my best interest!))

Okay, so thanks to Spitfire and her contact at the Virginia Department of Agriculture, I have gotten some info cleared up about the importation requirements for eggs and day-old chicks for Virginia. Evidently you don't need approval for each shipment, just one blanket approval that is good for the whole year to ship into Virginia. (adult birds are a different story)

Here is what she wrote:

"For people in other states to ship to you:
1. They need to have a poultry approval number, all mail order hatcheries already have this, and a lot of smaller hatcheries/individuals have it also. It is very easy to complete if your shipper does not already have it and like I said you only have to apply once and the number is good all year.
2. The shippers needs to be NPIP certified OR Birds need to be Pullorum tested within 30 days and AI tested within 14 days, and both of those tests are common to the poultry industry and easy to obtain."

If anyone has any questions, I can send you the forms and her contact info via e-mail (PM me!) and I will keep a list of who I am allowed to claim from and provide it to other Virginians when required.

Thanks to anyone willing to do this!

Yay! Thank you for getting the info...and to those willing to comply.
I have been spending time today looking into getting NPIP myself
