What do you guys think about the hovabator genesis 1588 with the digital thermostat and hydrog#&%&$ (I forget how to spell it)?

I have figured out that broodies don't always stay broody and I NEED an incubator of my own. borrowing my friends right now...just lucky it was empty! i'd have been screwed if it had been full!

It's not a bad incubator. One of the better styrofoam ones. Are you married? Hubby a handy man? Maybe have a friend who is? Find a old wine cooler of small fridge. Make an incubator.

I love the 1588 its what I used to borrow before I got my sportsman because my lg was so unreliable.

Anyone in the MD/PA area, there is a Dickey incubator up on CL for sale. I think they are asking too much but maybe someone can talk them down.

I candle at 8 days and again when I go into lock down...sometimes I sneak a peak in between since I am not very good at being patient

. But I figure if my broody gets off every day and her eggs hatch me checking 2 or 3 times won't hurt things too much

I'm thinking about that for my next one. I have a friend getting rid of a wine fridge because they dot have room for it in their new place.

Yay! Little chickie working very assiduously at getting out of her shell! Not, sadly, one of my NYD eggs -- I'm pretty sure I shrink-wrapped the remaining ones. -- but the first of what was supposed to be my Friday hatch. Bator seems to be a bit warm; Wednesday's were pretty much all 14-16 hours early too.
