300 is just a good round number.... just enough to make everyone you tell EYES BUG out of their heads

My mother told her Dr I had chickens and was selling and he assumed I was selling to TYSON or something and make MILLIONS... he knows a guy that does that and makes TONS of money... NOT ME..... LOL Make money on chickens... maybe next year

OK.... We do it a couple of ways. In the summer we spread it out on a HUGE tarp and use a rake to spread it and stir it as it drys. In good weather it takes about a day and a half to dry. We also use door screens. We picked them up CHEAP at a yard sale but you could make some pretty cheep too. Just a wood frame and some screen stapled to it would work. I forgot we get the grains in 5 gal buckets. We dump those into another 5 gal bucket with holes in the bottom, another bucket with some water and then put 200lb of weights on top to drain the water as much as we can.

It probably is hard to visualize what we do... I will get some pics next week. He is not brewing this week. I get 3 5gal buckets a BREW... he can brew up to 4 times a week. I can't dry more than 2 a week in this weather. In the summer I take ALL I can get. I used to mix it in with ALL my feed but it was too time consuming for 300 birds. Takes an hour to mix one 55gal barrel maybe more.

If I have not put pics up by the end of next week REMIND ME!

that's always my solution. I tell my Mr. that I'm selling them, yet I get to keep some. kind of like quality control, ya know, to make sure you're happy with that set of chicks, in the long run.

You can actually send them WITH babymakes6, I get all my birds sent to her, Ohio has a better postal system than Indiana it takes everything an extra day to get here. I'd rather get it shipped to Ohio and drive the few miles to her house to pick up than wait an extra day to get them here.

Reminds me of when I lived in Kentucky.
