How long do I need to quarantine my new trio before I take them to the barn?

30 DAYS! I keep them quarantined for 30 after they are over anything they might have had. Really not sure I have ever used a bird that I got sick. It can take a while for some things to show up. You really should quarantine for 30 days after a show too.

It will be interesting to see what each one looks like as they grow.
I'll be sure to keep photos as they grow

I hatched my very first chick ever today at 7:30 am. she woke me up with her chirping while still only 1/4 zipped. (the incubator is on my dresser) so I was able to witness the whole thing!
she is definitely a she. SG dorkings are easy to tell. I think it's odd that people don't consider them an auto-sexing breed. the females have a definite dark "v" on the top of their head and distinct eye liner.

forgive me, I know this is old hat to you guys, but I have to show you pictures!!!

I put her in a little tupperware so she wouldn't have to stumble around on the turner trays.

Why are the eggs still in the turner, though?

Also-you should consider putting something in the bottom of the plastic container (a rag, or small piece of shelf-liner would be perfect!) because a slippery floor causes spraddle-leg.

Quote: Until they sell, and/or ship.

We have daytime play yards for them. Starting at 3 days of age to 30 days of age they get grass time daily with water to drink and all the mazuri waterfowl feed they want.
At 30 days old they get grass time daily with water to drink and a small pool. They get their Mazuri feed in their stall only with water at this point

geese NEED grass, 905 of their diet should be from grazing and it is important for wing development and good growth they get lots of space to stretch and run

if its a bird who arrives sick they could be in lock down for 30, 60 or 90 days. I am thankful we havent had anyone ever arrive sick
