Was a list of prize winners from the NYE party ever posted anywhere? I still have an unclaimed prize of silkie eggs, if they weren"t given away or the person that won them doesn"t want them please let me know. Also, whoever won the incubator and whoever won the brooder, congratulations

I finally gave up on trying to get a list. I do not think CPL has been feeling well and I think everyone else is too busy with the new thread..... I have several unclaimed prizes also. I'm going to send the claimed ones and return the ones that were not claimed. If they wanted them they would have gotten a hold of me by now. You will be getting chicks from me and I got a claim for 2 gift cards but the rest was unclaimed. I do not feel right keeping it so on Monday I am going to make my rounds and return what is left. So - This is FINAL CALL - if you were told to contact REDBRUSH FARM for a prize, you have until SUNDAY EVENING 1/13/12 or it will be unavailable.

Are you talking about PP/HE prizes? Or the BYC prizes? I'm not sure that I would even know where to look for PP/HE but there is a list for BYC.

No problem, just let me know when you want them. It will be better on them to send when it is a little warmer. It is going to snow here again tomorrow. Hoping for enough to call off school. They build snow days into our schedule, but if we do not use them, we do not get off earlier in the spring so it is to our advantage to use them. We have not in the last 4 years.....

How is mom and family doing. I'm still praying and have the teacher prayer chain at school praying as well.

Here NPIP for just pullorum is $80 to submit, but that's most likely because Wisconsin has the Wisconsin Tested Flock program, which is free, and is basically the same thing but for smaller breeders. I did NPIP just to avoid having to explain what *** is (not to mention, the acronym *** doesn't mean "Wisconsin Tested Flock" to most people) and to avoid issues with other states postentially not accepting it as NPIP equivalent.

Think I'll look into AI testing next, as far as costs. AI isn't done here since WI hasn't had an AI case since 1968, I think. However, other states want them tested to import, no matter what, so we'll see what it costs to get AI certified.


edit: OK, THAT is funny. Acronym for Wisconsin Tested Flock is bleeped.

I actually laughed out loud, and got the "umm, are you okay?!" look from the family, lol. Looks like a broad range, but I guess under $100. I'll have to contact the local rep, plus the ag extension to see what diseases are around here that I should vaccinate for. I know that some vaccinations render birds unshipable (New Castle), but I'm not sure if eggs/chicks laid/incubated from a vaccinated flock are a no-go or not, since they have passive immunities from the hens for a few weeks (why you shouldn't vaccinate babies from a vaccinated flock until after a few weeks). Anyways, thanks for the laugh, and thank you everyone for the responses.


Oh, and I ran the idea of the kennel type breeder house/runs past G, and he's like "okay, but they'll have to stay on YOUR side of the garage until it's built." LOL! I wasn't so sure he'd be willing to go for a more elaborate setup like that. I guess I'm stuck parking in the driveway still! I've NEVER parked in a garage and was actually getting excited about parking in a garage during winter, but I guess that'll have to wait until NEXT year, darned birds, lol! Oh, and we looked at the thermostat as well and he said "go for it". Now, I just have to figure out how to run by him that I want to spend the money on vaccinations and testing.... Lol. I think the vaccinations might be okay if I can get others to get their's done as well.

The NYBash we had for our group here..... Most of the NYD individual contest have been posted on the web site.

Redbrush, I would hold off for now on returning. I haven't claimed my prizes yet, because I'm trying to let the donors settle everything with all of the other winners before I charge in and ask for my prize (seems kinda rude to me). I figure people have so much stuff to do with these contests and prizes that it's only kind to not be another person filling up their inbox with "hey, where's my prize?!"

brought her home yeserday, she seems to be doing a lot better. just gonna watch and take care of her the best I possably can, thats what I promised dad I would do before he passed
