50/50? Really? I think it's more like 75/25. At least for me. Boys, boys, boys. Another hatch of CCLs yesterday and I got 6 boys and only 2 girls. Again. These hatches are starting to feel like a broken record.

Wow, that's some bad luck you got going on.

I'm just happy my girls have decided to lay again.

The ducklings will be straight run, but i will sex and mark them so you know what you are getting.

Thanks, glad you liked it

I would be careful taking back as you dont know how they raised them, how many "other" birds they picked up and added, and what you could be exposing your flocks to. BIO-SECURITY major red flag
I always quarantine any birds that come on the farm, to much risk.

Holy crud. I finally boxed up the eggs in the fridge and the ones for hatching. 153. I said the heck with it and put sixty into the incubator, then the fridge eggs were boxed up and I put the cornish eggs in the fridge. So, someone is coming soon to buy eating eggs, the incubator has a shelf full and we still have four dozen for ourselves.

Agreed. I built a 4x4 in my DH's shed as a quaranteen area. I was doing 2 weeks last year but after reading a bunch on this site I'll go to a month. I only take back if under 16 weeks as they should know by then and (from what I've been told) the bird would fall under my testing until 20 weeks. I just received my my non-slip booties for visitors this spring too, that was a great idea I picked up n this thread somewhere.

Oh where did you get your booties? I want to start using these as well. I have far too much invested in my birdies to let anything happen to them.

Paperwork sounds like more fun than reading a lecture on the origins of agriculture. Blech! I keep finding reasons to stop and do other things.

I'd swap ya! Seriously -- at least agriculture is something I'm interested in, even if the history of it (pointy stick and wild yams?) probably isn't its most exciting facet!
