I feed layer feed but they just started laying so really the roos where on pullet grower.

I have a white leghorn pen too. These WL are just for making SBEL. I think I will keep that pen up all year this time. I get more calls for WL than you would think.

that's gorgeous! awesome work!
Love those crackhead chickens!!!

Okay Jeannie.... I'm not finished but here's a peak

Yes I agree, they smell very bad, would not see any development at 24 hrs, not much at day 7.
Speeking of day 7 just candled 6 white orps from hinks and 7 lavender orps most are questionable

5 Coros 6 lavenders 5 SFH and 2 Ameracaunas most were ok. Some were questionable, I think I will quit candling on day 7 and wait till 14 less stress, more obvious results

I'm getting better about waiting -- lost two coronations and a buff brahma to a candling accident last hatch, which I think finally broke my candling habit

I'll do a spot-check around day 7, make sure something's developing, but other than that there's really not much point until day 16 or so. Anything that's questionable I'm going to leave in till then anyway, and anything that's not questionable isn't going to be hurt by being left in that long. Unless something's stinky or seepy, of course.

broke down and candled last night, only 2 eggs but both are developing 1 Sicilian Bantam buttercup and 1 Arkansas blue! now I'm curious about the rest of them... I can wait I can wait lol

Well, I got my little serama to come out and go back in her cage

I did get some pictures but getting photos off my phone and onto the computer is a pain so I'm going to wait till I have more of them. She is such a cutie, though!

And then of course the fuzzybutts all needed a snuggle... Can silkies fly? I don't see how they could with that feather structure. They just kinda flap-hop. They like getting right under my chin and snuggling. It's cute.

And my who-knows-what crossbreed from Wingstone (who is my oldest chick at the moment -- she was a secret Santa chick and everybody else showed up Jan. 2) is already acting like she's going to be a good mommy, spreading her wings and letting the little 'uns crowd underneath them. Or maybe it's just a mutual warmth thing, I don't know! But she seems very content with a wingful of chicks :)
