Ughh...back from WallyWorld and fed, watered, and cleaned chickens. Of the 5 pips this morning, one is still working at his little hole. The rest haven't done any more work. Repeating mentally..."I will not touch the eggs. I will not touch the eggs."

I have tried coaxing them out in several animated voices...mostly to make myself feel better. No strange looks from family yet.

I also mentioned a second incubator and got a nod.

That wasn't a "no" so I'm taking it as a go ahead! Now, which one? I CANNOT spend money on a cabinet type--suggestions anyone on which one would keep my temps better regulated?

Then on the way to the store (with my newly licensed 16 year old driving) I calmly state, "Ya know, Ideal is having a big sale on bantams. We could sell those little guys locally and make a decent few dollars on them, too. They're 85 cents a chick. Wonder if we could make room for them for a few weeks..." This was met with, "Eighty-five cents! We could sell all of those with no problems! Look into that!"

I should have known yesterday when I caught him talking to the eggs that he was converting quickly.

I have egg news too!

Yesterday I went out to my lemon cuckoo pen. There were 2 eggs in it. Right now I have my gold laced cochin pair and my adult tolbunt roo in there, since lc's were't laying yet. Anyway, yesterday when I saw 2 eggs, I thought maybe I forgot to grab the cochin egg out of there the day before. Hmmm... Anyway today I saw the cochin lay her egg, and grabbed it a bit later. Then just now I went out there checking on everyone and found another egg!!! Finally!!!

Now I have to find room for the roo and the cochin pair.... I really need to get busy!
