Thats what I thought about having 2. But I thought maybe I am missing something. lol I saw Dickeys makes them to incubate and hatch in together. So I thought maybe I was missing something. I am knew at this.
You don't want that chick fluff in your incubator. It will start to coat the motor parts and fan. It's not easy to clean out. I found that out the hard way. Better to hatch in a separate one.

Yeah the fluff is fun. lol I hate sweeping it off the kitchen floor.

A backup would be good. One for incubating and one for hatching. Both can be styrofoam. You can try doing the bathroom but you would need to be quick and careful.
Any other suggestions? I have never had a mess like this. I know that the contamination possibilities have to be horrible between the heat, damp, etc.

I don't hatch in my Dickey, I don't like to get it dirty. I hatch in a Genesis 1588 and/ or 2 Brinsea ECO 20s. I have to say, I get AWESOME hatches in the 1588 but a pain in the butt to keep clean. The Brinsea are good...but not as good as the 1588.and I have to babysit them. (the Brinsea). They loose humidity too quick. BUT...much easier to clean.

You can actually call Mr. Dickey. I called when I got my Dickey and he walked me through the whole process step by step !!! I have never had a days problem with mine.

He will talk me through it? That sounds too good to be true!! I thought someone said you could get an auto thermostat for it, but I did not see it on the parts list. I REALLY will call him about how to set it though. Thank You....

caj1985 - I don't know if you know this and I wish someone would have told me soon. But you can buy liners for the LG. I never did b/c mine where already a mess. I was going to get new bottoms and liners for this year but I am upgrading instead. lol Anyways, they look helpful!
