I ordered 2 dozen buff brahma bantys from Dick with not much packaging- just like everyone else. had 8 hatch, in a week 3 started turning really dark- just found out that that the 3 oddballs are dark brahmas- he offered to send me more eggs. They are really cute though.Mine from Dick are hatching now. They were beautifully packed in foam egg shippers. Unfortunately, it looks like I got someone else's shipment. I ordered two dozen red dorking and put 8 into lockdown. I have 4 that have hatched. All with 4 toes and one feather legged. I just looked at the couple of hatched eggs that I still have and realized that what I thought was a poorly written RD is actually ORP. I have two blue orpingtons (one is the one that I talked about last night that hatched too early and disembowelled itself.) and a small black feather legged something.I am hoping the two that actually say RD and are pipped actually hatch.![]()

I received two boxes of eggs today. One was from DMRippy, the other from Dick Horstman. I really should have taken pictures so you could share in the humor, but the eggs from Horstman Poultry were in a standard egg carton and wrapped in newspaper. Some broken.![]()
Donna's eggs--were packed like Fort Knox--bubble wrapped, taped together in rows in the correct position, padded between rows with styrofoam, packed with newspaper and styrofoam!
I just stood staring at the differences in packing...laughing my head off.It is obvious who puts forth effort to make sure their eggs arrive intact.![]()
I'm so sorry to hear that! That IS disappointing!I can't understand why mine were in a carton wrapped in newspaper - no bubble wrap or foam and others got theirs in foam shippers. It might have made a difference in at least getting a few of mine to hatch. Very frustrating.

Would you go get mine and wrap them and send them to meNewspaper???? Really?????![]()
Hope everyone is doing well
I am getting my kids ready for bed. I realized today, besides one person I want BBS Cochins from () I have no need to swap any more. I have been able to sell eggs on eBay better than if I put them on the swap. Which is easily understandable.
I wanted to share some pictures of my buff leghorn chicks. I hatched 13 out of 15 an they are all doing well.

Adorable chicks. I have to sell some eggs too. My DH's one request when buying birds is that they pay for themselves eventually. The new birds really need to pay for themselves now. All in time I guess.Hope everyone is doing well![]()
