Your 2nd mission was a week ago today when mom came home from the hospital we were cleaning up we shoved the crock pot full of leftovers and all the other containers of leftovers in the oven, we were frazzled and caring for mom is number 1. Sooo that was Saturday when Daphanie came on Thursday I was going to ask her to empty the oven out. I forgot and Charles cousin went to cook dinner a d PRE heated the oven to 450 by the time we smelled it the Tupperware and the crock pot took the brunt of the damage. Lol heather thinks they might replace it. Lol

YUGH!!! Oh man, that could've been REALLY bad. At least it didn't explode or take the house with it or anything. Did the oven survive???

(And I would definitely replace the tupperware, lol!)

I just heard from Dick Horstman. He said he figured the odd hatchlings were from extra eggs and couldn't figure out why the extras hatched but the dorkings didn't. He is going to replace the eggs. I told him I would be happy to pay postage.

Lilwanis, I hear you. Drives me crazy with any animal, but even a dog is only a 15-16 year commitment except in very rare cases. Most people go "Oh, cute!" and don't realize they may very well be making provisions in their will for their new feathered companion. Parrots are not easy, they can be very hard to retrain once they get into bad habits, and a frightened, ****** off parrot can cause serious damage. And worse, they don't ever grow up and leave home!  :gig

I hope we didn't damage zeeke to bad in the 7 years we had him. We knew we didn't have time for him but you can't just sell an animal like that on Craigslist, it has to be the perfect match.

I have a very long day tomorrow, between chores, errands...and stalking! (Yes, i'm looking your way! You know who you are!). Sundays are very busy around here!

WV - Got a Spangled Roo

- Found him close to home from the friend of a friend. Liked the color of the ones on featherAuctions more, but when they are close to home, no shipping fee. Plus I already had hens, I really only needed a roo. Thanks for your help in looking!!

Nope, you sure didn't! He's got no bad habits that I've stumbled across yet, and absolutely no fear of people. Of course, he's just settling in, so he may still be on his "guest" behavior, lol! He's a little willful, but that's normal -- he's testing boundaries. Once we get a routine and get him settled in more permanent digs so he knows "his" spaces and where he can perch and what he's allowed to play with, he'll do great :)

It kills me that you'd say that -- it's like your poor, neglected chickens outside. I know chickens who would love to be "neglected" like that!!!

(Guys, it really was a riot -- CPL was all like "Oh my gosh it's so bad I haven't had time to take care of them at all you're going to think I'm the most horrible chicken owner ever" -- you have imagine this all said in a rush as one sentence for full effect -- and then we go outside and here are these totally fat, sassy, happy birds...
