Then they better express ship a new order of boxes with the filters installed along with a paid return shipping label for the boxes without the filter!

ALRIGHT CALL ME STUPID what is the filter?

Quote: Basically, it is a piece of fabric that goes over the air holes to prevent cross-contamination of the air being exchanged. Kind of like the face masks that health professionals use. Which gives me an idea. Could you pick up some disposable face masks at the pharmacy and cut them to fit the airholes? You would need to find the flat kind, not the molded kind. The filters are just glued in.

Hmm...I'm pretty sure I have a medical supply close by. Thanks for the idea! What about the grogel? They only sent a small packet. I don't know how much it expands. Will that be enough for shipping two 13 wk juveniles?

okay just wanted to stop in for a second. Keeping my fingers crossed that crfarms babies are just late hatchers. Had one birchen hatch out. So fingers crossed for the others!

Also wanted to double check on carriers for people! I have down just off the top of my head. madam, kyt, krafty, cpl, bm6, swindledana, sah and mrsmooncat? I think that's all of them. if it's not please pm me and the swap number so I can add it to may records. I've got the sign info it's the carriers that I want to get finished and sent first. Also let me know if you want it built or flat packed. I know BM6 said flat packed just let me know for any others. It will help me with shipping DRASTICALLY! Should be able to fit them into flat rate boxes. Will have to be snail if built.

Anyway let me know!

elmers white glue and the medical flat masks will work in a pinch for bio-filters in the boxes. You have more than enough grogel for two chicks to travel with. I dont use grogel on birds that old, maybe half an apple or half an orange. Grogel is reserved for chicks 4 weeks and younger.

Thank you! This is my first time shipping lives and I am super nervous! I haven't put the boxes together to really see the size. They are the Horizon single stall boxes for adult birds. Can I ship them together in one box at that age, or do I need to ship one bird per box?

you can fit three in that box as long as they dont max the weight out (which they shouldnt) they will travel better together too. We are shipping two adult hens together tomorrow to reese, will give them an apple cut in half for the trip.
