I need help. I have been sitting here instead of going to bed because I have one last little one peeping. I noticed some blood on the little beak that was pipping out and then I realized that there was blood in the nostril, so I removed a small piece of shell to clear the blood out of the nostril and the whole top of the egg came off in my hand, which normally I would be cool with and just help the little one out of the shell, but there is so much blood here, I don't know what to think. I'm afraid that taking this one out of the shell is going to make it bleed out. Here is a picture:
The blood vessels in the membrane look full and intact and there is just so much blood. I put it back in the turner to hopefully dry up and shrink back some of that membrane. Is that the right move?

Thats what I would do, hope the baby makes it.

I wrap them in a wet wet paper towel and put them back. They will usually hatch just fine later.

pipping does not mean they are totally ready to hatch does it? I think they absorb the blood as they are hatching.... might be soon after pipping or it should be, but they don't don't all do it the same.

I wrap them in a wet wet paper towel and put them back. They will usually hatch just fine later.

DMRippy, when you do that, would you cover the nostrils w/the paper towel too or would you leave that part uncovered?

If you would be so kind as to ask him if he needed an extra relay to run your heating system using the electronic thermostat, it would help me.

This is a picture of the back side of the Sportsman Incubator - showing how the arm goes down from the motor on the top and turns the racks. I hope this helps you figure out your solution!

Its a lever arm on the motor - the motor turns very slowly. I think VWstruttin may have a solution - buy a slower motor from GQF and use it! I think there is a secondary piece (relay?/rheostat?) on the back that has something to do with the turning/motor - you might have to get that as well? The rest of the spaghetti there goes to the light to say its on - and the switch to turn it on or off.

Oh, and you DO have a REAL incubator! Its BEAUTIFUL!

We didn't use any extra anything. The thermostat controls the flexwatt and the light and that is it. The fans run on a different system and are powered ALL the time the bator is on. The turner runs on a timer. It runs for 2 mins at a time and runs 6 times a day..... well it DID
