Finally got the bator wired up, BUT, I can't figure out how to set it or something. It's hooked up properly and I thought I set it the right way. It's NOT heating. It's just blowing cold air everywhere and I can't figure out what I did wrong. I set it to 38C (because for some reason it's not giving me the 0.1 options). Any help would be very much appreciated!

Pullet looks good this morning and she's eating and rooting around in the hay to make a nest spot.  I brought her cage out into the sunshine hoping that would do her some good.  I'm still clueless how she almost decapitated herself.  No chance of anything getting in--that coop and run and completely covered.  I guess I will just keep putting the antibiotic cream on her unless she shows any signs of infection in it.  Then we'll go to the vet for penicillin shot if that would help her.

I'm afraid to pull the feathers back and look at it, but I guess I have to so I can keep a check on how clean it is.  Ugh...poor thing.

BIG thanks to Susan this morning---eggs with extras received--AND ON TIME TOO!!  So proud of my postal workers today for once.

I had a very similar injury on a hen about 6 months ago. Her neck was cut from under the right side of her beak, up to her face, then to the back. Yuck, and we have no idea what happened. Perhaps we missed a loose piece of wire, but we never figured it out. We cleaned it thoroughly, used superglue to close it, and sprayed it with blue kote to keep the other birds from bothering her. She healed very quickly!

If you use superglue, get someone to help you. It's very easy to glue your hands together with a moving patient lol!

LOL but you already HAVE Barnevelders!!! I've seen the pictures!!!
I don't have enough barnevelders. I only kept one hen. I butchered or gave away my roosters. I was going to breed them instead of the lavender orps, but I decided to wait one more year.

Betta - I'm shipping out the lemon blue cochin eggs on Monday, I hope your incubator will be ready for them . . .
Kraftyladies - Yours will go out on Tuesday.
