Walli- Can you give me any clue about this chick's sex? I hatched 4 from your eggs about 12 weeks ago. They all look very similar in development and there are no large wattles or combs on any of them. Their faces have really reddened in the last couple of days. I'm hoping they're all girls, but I doubt I can really be that lucky right?

Handsome boy.

The red wattles are a give-away. The crested ones show them later than the non-crested ones. And the crest feathers looks spiky, not rounded.

Does anyone use chicken nipples? Do you have to use a closed system? Like, can you just use a bucket without a lid? Or if you get extravagant and do a little plumbing system and have a big rain barrel, does it have to be air tight?
