Oh man, I miss ONE day on the thread due to back being awful and I am never gonna catch up. So I'm just going to content myself with shouting hi -- hi, everybody!

And oh man, chickenbelle, that's just... I'm speechless. Yeah, if half the eggs got that banged up I wouldn't hold out much hope for the rest of 'em.

It drives me nuts -- packing eggs well isn't rocket science! And thank you to everyone on the swap thread who has given me such a wonderful tutorial into how to do it well

Can't wait till I can put learning into practice -- it shouldn't be too much longer!

Donna & Shellie - thanks again for the advice on the (badly) cracked egg. The wax really may have done the trick! The lil Dwarf is peeping at me! It's pipped internally, I'm just worried it will attempt to pip externally overnight and hit a spot with wax. Crossing my fingers. They aren't due to hatch until Friday, but those guys usually make an appearance a day early. Two of them have already pipped externally.

Anyone have suggestions on how to deal with slate cigarette smoke smell in hard plastic?

or mineral deposits, like the kind that happen in the bottom of the incubator when water evaporates?

e I have been biting my fingertips to the bone! I have 51 that went into lockdown on Sat night. I think I wrote the wrong day down or maybe because the bators temp was a touch lower for 2days with the turkeys that it slowed them down a little. I feel like they have been in lockdown for over a week even though its been 4ish days. ANYWAY because I have a brooder in my office I couldn't hear any peeps. Well I decided to go in with the light off and I hear peeping and realize its from inside the bator!!! I was searching desperately to try and see who it was but also didn't totally care was just happy to hear peeping. Well I finally see it and its a BBS Am from Krafty!!!! I'm so ecstatic and tere would be more smilies but I've forgotten some of the codes and I'm on my phone!

It was the mom that called me looking for her kids wants and needs. I told her I would see, but that I didn't have much to trade with right now so I would probably have to buy them. I found a penciled palm at Porters that I think she should get for her son. Maybe like two of the one of each. She to.d me to shut up.
