thats true, but...they usually end up with leg problems from the weight, unless you can keep them from eating so much and good luck with that!

not to mention they can't breed

Hmmmm.... turkeys are pretty good flyers. My Red Bourbon tom doesn't seem interested in flying much, but I am sure he could. He is too busy "impressing" the neighbor. Could clip their flight feathers.

a friend of mine has a standard bronze who is massive, he doesnt fly anywhere and stays in her fence......of course he is going on three, thats why he is so big

ok so whats the deal with blue in turkeys does it breed true and would he get big enough to stay put (even if it means wing trimming)

When breeding Slate to Slate, the results are turkeys of three different colors, Slate,Self Blue and Black.
When breeding Self Blue to Self Blue, only Self Blues result.
When breeding Self Blue to Black, only slates result.
When breeding Slate to Black both slates and blacks result, with no self blues.
When breeding Self Blue to Slate both Slates and Self Blues result, with no blacks.
When breeding Black to Black, just Blacks result.​
