That would be nice, but then we would get an idea as to the fact that they are breeding thousands of birds from 5 that they imported. When the gene pool is that shallow, any and all genetic defects are going to come to the surface. On top of that, I wonder about their feed rations. A lot of the leg issues, beak issues, etc. could be caused either by inbreeding or by lack of certain nutrients. I'd like to know which it is.



Sure makes me wonder about nutrition, given the variety of issues. Subpar nutrition would account for shipping stress resulting in sick birds, poor handling of shipping, leg/beak/weakness issues in chicks. Would be strange to have all of those "genetic diseases" in all of the lines. Would take a couple generations of good feeding to the stock to see if the issues correct, but there is hope that that would be the case. Certainly close genetics can be at fault/contribute to the problem, as well, but if I would take a hard look at nutrition of the parent stock first.
