I put 40 in lock down in my hovabator 1588 and now their hatching and hatching and hatching!! Problem - the humidity is high enough that it doesn't read on my digital thermometer! I also have several breeds in there and now realize I can't tell them apart. In a week or two I will be posting pictures to see if someone can help me "name that breed!!" I know there are SFH, Silkie, Serama, Silver Phoenix, OEGB, Rhodebar, and Maran.

Would you worry about the humidity. I have the plug out. Have never had it do this before.....

there is a hug! Glad they settled down. The 2 left here were all huddled and hiding until I put your SFH's in with them. They were so happy to have company in their brooder...

They almost acted like they were abandoned.
Probably have to talk with you about a side swap for some of your black orpingtons.......... was hoping to get some from a previous swap to cross back on my lav's but they are no longer available...... so.......... we shall see....

Think I am going to have to look into those EcoGlows... having it in your car was neat!
I will be putting a bunch of the BBS Orp eggs in the incubator this week to time with Herducks visit. I will probably have some extra black chicks.

Okie dokie, things I learned on my Home Depot call:

1. HD now accepts PayPal as a payment option!
2. This item is due to restock on 3/1/13, so any day now!
http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs...ductId=202489118&R=202489118#shipping_options
3. The Coroplast is NOT available to ship to my local store for free, nor does it qualify for free shipping (I'm guessing due to sheer size). Check your own store, though- she sid the site to store thing is a work-in-progress.
4. MILITARY DISCOUNT ONLINE: Place your order, wait 45+ mins for it to get into the system, call the 800 number, give them your order confirmation number and mil ID details and they will make the price adjustment for you :)

On my batch of BCM eggs I hatched almost 2 years ago, DH thought they needed water in the incubator and gave them a dish of water. I came home from work to ****** off cheeping chicks... the humidity was 99% and they were in a cloud. They all survived :) Turned out to be really hardy birds, too!

The lady that drove to pick up the Basque chicks was very nice. I sure hope they have a safe drive back. I encouraged her to stop in and check out the swap and chat threads. :)

So my 32 precious dorking eggs all go on lockdown tomorrow and Wednesday they are calling for 6-10 inches of snow

Please pray/cross fingers/or whatever you believe in for the power to stay on...
