I even have trouble with marans eggs....if they are not clear...then all is good for me, then in lockdown they go with fingers crossed. I just had 2 batches from someone shipped in different boxes. 13 in 1 and 15 in the other box. Had 7 of the 13 go to lockdown, 4 hatch only 3 make it. the 15 had 5 go to lockdown and 2 hatch. They were kind of expensive to me, but I really wanted them. But did I email her? No. They went all the way across the United States. You never know. It's Russian roulette. But now I have 5 cuties that i wouldn't have had otherwise. Thanks guys, you make me feel better.

Kraftie I think 50 to 60 is great on shipped that's nearly 45 most people would be glad to get that

I just had my first hatch ever! These eggs were mailed to me February 9th....brrrrrrrrr. I got 16 eggs from Ray_n_ Debi and 16 eggs from Wisher1000. 10 of Ray_n_ Debi and 15 of Wishers went into lockdown. 4 of Ray_n_ Debi and 4 of Wishers hatched yesterday. If nary another egg hatches I would still count this as a HUGE success. I had rumpless araucana, wheaten marans, black copper marans, buff orpington, silkies and easter eggers in this batch. I am tickled with my 8 chicks but sure, it would be great if I get more hatched tonight/tomorrow. So how do we figure hatch rate? From the 32 i received or from the 25 that went into lockdown?

I just paid $55 for a dozen eggs they sent 14 and only 4 candled. thankfully all 4 hatched.. i have replaced many eggs for people but, usually nobody does for me. only very few have replaced

I"d bet if a suryey was done on the percentage of eggs hatched from shipped eggs the average would be 40% or lower. There"s too many variables involved
