BM6 and I are organizing our swaps on indez cards so we can match them up for shipping. She had her's done a LONG time ago and I am working on mine then the other day DH dumped my purse over getting out of the car and they all landed in a puddle. SHHHH don't tell BM6. I am working on fixing them. Well NOT RIGHT now, right now I am here. I SHOULD be working on them right now.

Good thing I moved some eggs into lockdown tonite... 23 of my own, to be able to move my eggs from Papa and juststruttin back into the other bator to continue cooking... sheesh, I think it's time for another bator or 2, or 3, or....

I got my eggs from DMRippy,ChinkenJunkie and Little Ameraucana Mom. I have to open the boxes right now I am dealling with yet another situation with shipped birds!. My blue hen died in shipping!

I swear there is something telling me either to stop getting birds through the mail or maybe I am just not going to get my breeding quad of blue/splash Cochins! I am going to try this fall one last time but this time I am going to pick up my lazy but and just drive the extra 12 hrs to get them!

I want mine. Only reason i am not swapping much is due to the wacky weather my birds aren't laying as welland i want to catch up on my spring swaps before i offer anymore of those. Also bator is full. But as soon as they start laying better & my spring orders are down i will need mine.

I have a question about the word "pure" in pertaining to breeding? I can not get any gold laced hens for my roo ANYWHERE! So I got two mottled hens to use. So can I swap some of my mottled/gold laced Cochin eggs? I read that the mottled gene helps the feather quality without disrupting the lacing gene, or something like that.

I am still waiting on my Blue Bantam Cochins to lay some eggs. I did get two eggs from them but one is on day 14 woo hoo!!

and the other is going in the incubator shortly!! I am still not getting them consistently and I won't know if MY rooster is doing his job for awhile. Two of them were in a breeding pen with a different rooster 2 weeks ago and I just got my first egg since they got here(the other eggs was in the shipping box!)
