What makes me think you're not looking forward to it?

Yesterday morning DH drove DS to pick up his girlfriend to take them both to school. When they arrived at girfriend's house, she came running out of the house screaming that the house was on fire and that her grandmother was still inside. DS without hesitation ran in and rescued the elderly disabled woman. The house is a total loss, nothing left but a hole in the ground where the basement used to be. Tthe local news did a story on DS. I'm so proud of him!

So the black barthuhners have been moved to their permanent pen. The rooster has loads of beautiful hens and I'm hoping that jump starts his interest.

I have chicks popping out all over here! Soon I will be out of eggs. . Then I will get my Whitmore Farms order in. Then I will be chickless all summer. . But for right now, they are popping!!

Someone remind me, please, about sexing cuckoo marans...big white head blotch = boy?

Going on the famous "who got tails first" method, more of my chicks from mrheinz are Pullets. We'll see if that holds true when they're grown!

Tomorrow night I will be moving all the new layers and POL birds to new quarters. Then I can clean out where they've been, and move the oldest juvies in there. That'll free up the Juvenile Detention Center for the ones currently inside.

Chicken rotation. Judging by what I read here, this could be an olympic sport!

CPL is the Orp can't fit with COF's birds then you can send it here with Herducks and Krafty can pick it up in May.

AWESOME!! I have a lav or a Splash that can ride with it. Can I send some russian orlaff chicks to if they hatch in time?

The size difference won't work you orps are MUCH bigger at least for now. They are soo pretty I was taking a closer look at them today when on of my 4-h kids came to pick up a black hen and roo. I had to take them into the sunlight to make sure I didn't mic up the black and choc. The green luster made that easy. It was 63 Spring is HERE. I can ship that roo and hen this week if you want.

you all have been really great helping me get this organized, right now my life is so different without mom I knew mom did everything for dad but I didn't really know. He is like a lost puppy tagging along everywhere with us. He is insisting he is moving back to his house this weekend, bless him. DH will stay a few nights a week with him, we have to find a new normal. Well you know I'm not normal, lol.

I looked in the bator and it looks like I will have some chicks hatching before herducks gets here so I you are owed chicks and looking for chicks let me know, I know again. I'm back to 200+ PM's

I have fully feathered black australorp and 5 welsummers that could go on the trip to fill some swaps. I might also be presuaded to ship them as well.



NEXT Week BM6 and I are going to be able to start filling our CCL egg/chick swaps. It's a little confusing as some want eggs turned into chicks so bear with us we will get it done.

Russian Orlaffs are good to go I am getting 100% hatches here and hatches on shipped

Oldansk dwarfs are good to go same thing

I have some basque test eggs going out but they were fertile in quarantine and they are in their new pen and the rooster is getting busy.

The tolbunts are slow kicking into gear but the ones I have tested have been 100% I will have madamwlfs tolbunts when HERDUCKS goes home so after I fill any orders she has tolbunts will be going. What is HERDUCKS going to do with the eggs she get from them the 2 weeks they are with her? Maybe I can talk her into shipping them if I send boxes and foam shippers.

There is an egg eater in the Isbar pen, they are in a little pen I hope to have them out this week and figure out who the problem is.

SFH I got the 1st egg the other day.

White breese, jubliee orps are growing. I wound up with 3 pullets but have a roo on the way tomorrow. Bant choc orps are going to get their breeding pen this week.

Hedemora need to be fertility tested still I have some out and more going out.

BBS orps kraftyladies is filling for me. And cluckitall is going to fill the LF barred cochins orders since she stole them when she was here so please PM these gals for eggs.

Meanwhile I will be making lists and lists and getting ready for HERDUCKS!! I'm trying to think of everything she will need just in case.
