Yes, they share the coop with my lavender orpingtons. Those are beautiful! Looks like you have quite the flock there. Are they in your chicken coop? I assume they don't roost. LOL
Maybe she misunderstood the "chicks" part..

Poor kid! I told my husband about this and he was appalled...as are the rest of us. your son was robbed of a normal teen period (not that any of our teen years are great, but all the reason not to make them WORSE) and the emotional scars from being told it's all about his self control but it wasn't...I want to write a nasty note to all of his prior doctors, so I know you do too...I have been taking him to the doctor since he was 13 for gaining weight. Each doctor just looked at him and said fat kid, go on a diet. I finally insisted on blood tests because he is 21 and gained about 150 lbs in the last year and a half. They did blood tests and found he had low testosterone levels. Doctor wanted to put him on testosterone. I said that there had to be a cause for that at his age. Sent him to an endocrinologist. She did a physical exam and determined he has never completely gone through puberty. He has Cushings which is caused by a tumor on the pituitary gland. If any doctor had actually done a physical exam in all these years they would have found the physical irregularity. AHHH!!!!! That is how they know it is slow growing. It has been affecting him since pre-puberty age. Now we have physical issues that will probably never be corrected. Not the least of which is abnormally short stature. He is only 5' 4" and according to baby/toddler heights should have been 6'2". His dad is over 6 foot. Anyway, we just have to get him on the road to as much normality as we can. At least his self-image will improve knowing that this was not his fault. He had completely lost all self-confidence because he just kept gaining weight.
