Hatching Eggs / Paypal CHAT Thread

I know you feel guilty and like you "should do something". However shipping hatching is a risk, and we all assume the risk when we swap as well. The fact that you replaced a non-paid for set of eggs says a lot. You dont owe anything else at this point, you full fileld the swap with the first box you shipped, and were kind enough to reship because of broken eggs thanks to the USPS. if someone is swapping and expecting all shipments to be replaced if any are broke, or if the USPS looses and or delays a box they need to STOP swapping.

I got eggs from this swap and not a one was usable thanks to breaks, cracks and egg goo everywhere. Just the luck of the draw for me and those swaps.

I get this... To a point. I mean, let's say I was selling electronics. The package never showed up. I would be responsible as a seller to get te customer what they paid for. Or, if the merchandise got there, but in non working condition, again, the seller has responsibility to the customer.
Of course, when we as reciepant a of shipped eggs get our eggs in one piece, we take responsibility for our hatch rates, as well as some damage done through shipping. I have been on the end of very low hatch rates and know its frustrating but accepted it. Recieving completely damaged eggs could be from poor packagaging, or severe abuse from the PO, but well packaged eggs seem to still survive wear and tear of shipping. So, as a shipper I accept that I might not have packaged as well as I thought I did. When I recieved smashed eggs, the lady who sent them refunded me, which was great, and it certainly would have prevented me from future purchases in the future from her, if she had not.
Where is the line of being prepared for a chance of a bad hatch, and expecting to get your eggs delivery (not necessarily in a speedy manor) in good enough shape to at least TRY to set them?

So, after all this bull foolery... I am going to try to figure out where that line is... At least for my own piece of mid and practices. Since I do eBay sales, I feel like I could easily lose quite a bit of money on having to cover basic shipping problems, so I need to be prepared for what should be expected, an let people know in advance. Completely smashed eggs (with pictures)? I don't think it's right not to do something for the buyer. It's not their fault, an while it might not be mine either, it COULD have been. Maybe I should have packaged differently?
I dunno.
I have also had zero hatch rates from a shipment, got another hip meant from same person, and still had nothing hatch... Which, even though as an egg buyer I can accept responsibility, that does not seem to be a shippe problem, but a fertility problem. So, as a seller, I check my fertility monthly, and see the chicks hatch, so I know of their general condition. Since I haven't been breeding chickens too long, I don't claim my birds are show quailty, and admit they need a lot of work. That being said, they are the breeds that I advertise as... I have hatched some that are mixed breeds but advertised as pure, or the grand debacle of am vs EE.
The problem is there are a lot of nuances to shipping eggs that are usually covered by the seller, and what is expected from them. It's in the eye of the beholder how to package eggs, or what the quality is, or how long they are collected before shipping... I don't want someone to expect one thing, and I assume they where expecting something else.

Just finished a spring deep clean of the coop. Next week I will do a thorough job of the run. Now, I only have two hours to scrub myself clean and get to wine night. What an odd day :gig

hatching eggs IMO do not get replacements shipped just because the PO takes forever to get them where they belong. That is BEYOND the sellers control. I have statements listing I am not responsible for delays in transit caused by the USPS holding, mis routing or otherwise delaying the package.

If a box is crushed flat that is a USPS issue again because they failed to ship the package without damaging it. Sellers must file the claim for shipping refund on damaged packaes. Once that is issued by the USPS I would offer free replacements as the shipping would be covered by the refunded shipping from the first box.

I am one who will say dont call an EE an AM, and dont call a flock of mixed color AM's (say Lav, Wheaten, Black, ect) all in one flock AM's either as the off spring color is not pure.

green legs and yellow feet 9underside) are not AM and shouldnt be sold as such.

I for one will never hatch mixed stock and claim it to be anything but mixed stock as that is unethical (again IMO) to lie or deceave the buyer. We sell EE as EE and OE as OE and explain the difference between the pure AM and EE to buyers so they understand what they are getting.

I made a FLOCK PAGE!!!!! Please let me know what you think or if I missed anything!

I was informed by the mods that it was my IP address under the username..... What does that mean, they are using my IP and if so HOW......

Now I am ticked and am tired of being harassed and if the mods won't do anything about it then I am done and will just fulfill my swaps. I can't deal with this, I have 4 little ones and already get stressed enough I don't need this too.

Do you have a wireless router and is it secure? Does this individual know the password to it if it is secure?

I don't know, I thought it was. I don't know the password. They stayed here before so, who knows..... Yes, I have a wireless router. But I thought they had to live within range. If they have it how can I stop them.

She could be using it within your range. How far away does she live? You may have to call your internet provider, they would know a lot more on how someone is using your ip address.
