Hatching Eggs / Paypal CHAT Thread

just have to wait and see, but hopefully it is just resting from all the hard work it takes to get out of those hard shells. I promised myself after my last turkey hatch, I would not help ever again. every one that I helped because I thought it was struggling too long/much died....the ones I finally decided to let mother nature take it's course, hatched by themselves, lived and were very healthy, and went on to new homes.

I have heard this many times. They need to be strong enough to hatch themselves or they won't be strong enough to live.

Goodmorning!
I had Brahma's hatch last night, Games (Toppy, Kelso, Col. Givens, etc), OEGB's, SFH, EO's, and a bunch of others. It is so nice to have drawers so I can have staggered hatches. I can still remember the LG days when I would loose half my chicks b/c I had to open the darn thing to get a older hatched chick out, or it was a nightmare to keep humidity levels.
I also woke up with a nasty sinus infection. I have a feeling the Tulip Poplurs (spelling) are blooming....

yayyy for chicks! I got some blue and black coppers, (finally a decent hatch on the marans) a couple Sicilians, silkies, one ark. blue and waiting on one more blue to hatch....they take forever, the little slowpokes!
Sorry about the sinus infection

Me and my boys have had a head cold for about a week now, the stupid weather fluctuations are killing us!

On another note, I have a lot of eggs claimed from various people on here, if those of y'all would and can, please do not send me any eggs, we are trying to buy us a house with a little more property, a little closer to civilization, and I am going to try to get my inkies emptied, so I don't have to move eggs and inkies. Just praying the bank comes through for us!

Send me a PM when your ready to start getting eggs again. I am hoping to get all my lists down over the next few weeks. IF the girls co-operate. I also started getting eggs from the Exch Leghorn girls again, so I need to go out and taking pic's and whatnot, just feel like poop...
I hate head colds! Actually I just hate feeling bad period.

I do think it is a mix of the weather and the bud's starting to bloom out.

This one being stuck was my fault because I opened the incubator not realizing it was zipping it made it all the way around but was glued to the shell because of humidity only being 45% during most of the hatch.

I figured out several hatches ago that I don't help chicks out because they were always poorly, but I thought I would help this one since it was my fault. LOL

Agreed, but I think alot of these chicks would hatch out just fine under momma hen. What I have found is if a chick has a longer (but still normal) zipping time than a styrofoam forced air incubator frequently shrink wraps them- no matter the humidity level. If I hatch that same chick in a cabinet incubator with laminar airflow- even at lower humidity levels the extended zipper will hatch just fine.

Sometimes it's just the artificial environment we put them in that creates the problem.
