Thank you! Didn't think our kitter's food was on the list, but wanted to double check. She threw up for the first time ever yesterday and G said she hasn't been eating much of her breakfast, which was the food that she brought back up. I'm so ready to switch her to a home made diet!

So sad. A woman hit a pregnant deer on the road in front of our house. It was still alive but obviously not going to survive, she came to the house asking if we could shoot it. I think she was due pretty soon too :( :(

Ours would be free range. Last year with the BBB and the naragansett, the BBB just didn't know how to free range, but the N did just fine. Problem was, she flew onto my husbands truck one too many times, and I never thought to clip her wings... :/

Just watch these little buggers because they can fly and have gotten on both my car and my hubbies truck. Both are relatively new, so hubby was POed, but I just laughed. We pen them when they are little and once they fly over the fence to help themselves to the strawberries that my son teaches them to love him with we let them go. We keep a pen set up over the summer/fall if we are going to be gone for a few hours, so we can pen them for safety. Otherwise they run around being turkeys, chase the chickens out of their favorite spots and go eat the chicken food. Mind you there is something around 900 feet between the chicken coops and the turkey coop.

That's weird about your BB not foraging ours do just fine on it, but they have alfalfa to forage and turkeys love alfalfa and grass.

We had that happen when I was a kid many many moons ago. My dad delivered two of three triplets via Caesarian. The third died. We raised them until they were old enough to go to a deer farm up north in Minnesota. It was a lot of fun for us kids, but my mother was t too happy about them being in the house bleating at her to be fed when we were gone.

I doubt the baby was alive, she hit the for right in the side, the left hip and leg was crushed. She was pretty upset by it. She was going pretty fast, but the speed limit is 55 out front. It's stupid really. A rich guy (mr. Drummond, who owns Drummond banks) owns like 200 acres that he purchased just for a deer reserve. It has an eight foot fence around t and he has his own deer stocked... This is for him to take pictures of deer, its not a hunting camp. Anyway, all the deer in the area, used to cross through that land before he put the fence up, now they are forced to go along it, along the road. Granted there are only like 4 house across from the 200 acres, but I think 55 is too fast.

We are on a US HWY, so the speed is 55 which actually means they are going between 60 and 65. Generally the only thing that gets hit by our farm is predators, but a half a mile down the road is a nice trout stream. There are deer killed there every week. It's also right next to the beginning of the school campus. Speed limit doesn't slow until right next to the elementary school even though you've already been driving in a school zone for a good quarter mile at least. Guess the high school doesn't count as a school zone.

Morning! Up and off early this morning to bring some hatchery pullets to a swap. Have to pay for my hatching addiction somehow!
