I was out to pick up turkey eggs a few minutes ago and saw a hen acting really strange. She kept looking from side to side and running away from something.

The sun is out here finally and I think she was running from her own shadow!

I have a 10'x16' coop that is now split with the SFH and my EE/OE flock. By this time next year, I imagine the SFH should have it all to themselves. I already have stock from 4 different sources (although they all originated with GFF) and will be getting eggs from at least 2 more this spring or summer. Eventually I plan to have a flock of 50 - 60 of them. That should give me at least one of every color.

I have three different sources for mine. The ones I got from Dahligrams are by far the most colorful with small crests, but the ones I got from Bhep have vaulted skulls. The other source came as adults and of course they came from GFF by way of an elderly gentleman that could no longer care for them due to a hip replacement.

I originally got them for my son, but have decided I like them so much I want to keep a lot of them. I love that mottled splattered with paint look. They make very pretty yard art.
