ok soooo on RBA the bidding is up to $400.00 on a silver laced oro cockeral. ONE that will be 9 weeks old. Some of you know how much I want silver laced, but one cockerel? Not a 5 or 6 month old, but 9 weeks. Am I crazy for thinking that is insane?

ok good, glad I am not crazy. I just know that if I did something crazy and bought it, it would die, and it would be the day after "the warranty" ended. Bedtime now, gnite all.

Awe sorry about the little squirt. Those are the ones I feel the most bad about.

does this answer your question? I was getting Mother's Day love from three of our girls. Can't sit down without them vying for attention. Midgets are just like that all the time. It's why I chose them. More than any other turkey besides the BBW they will seek out people. Must be genetic from the BBW parentage. How do you like the little happy noises they make when you cuddle them?

I hate to say it but I usually count my boys early by strutting. Hens will strutting, but generally only poult boys will strut. I hope that's not the case though. Otherwise the only way to know or sure is to wait. The boys will develop caruncles sooner, their snood will be bigger also. Generally the ones hatched with no discernible snood are girls. It will poke out soon after though. Take picks and I will try to figure them out. Glad you are enjoying them. Now you know why we turkey fanatics talk about how sweet and love able turkeys are. They are awesome!

Ok- sorry in advance for all the pics!

Poult 1 - this is the little one that struts and dances all the time. He's hilarious. He tries to hitch rides on my border collie...just fearless lol! He has more color to his down than the others.

I believe I have enough Brahma colors to keep me busy for awhile.

So glad I remembered a set of arc/tractor plans I had in the laptop. Will be easy to get them built so all the colors stay separated.

Light
Buff
Blue Partridge
Buff Laced
Gold Laced
Silver Laced
Columbian Lavender

This means the CCL, and Rhode's are deffinetly leaving. It also means the EE flock will be leaving too (aside from 4 hens who are old timers and here for life)
our EE are going also we will keep the Rhodebars

Definitely boy! The beige is the brown eye gene. Will most likely have brown eyes when he's older. Enjoy those pretty blues until sometime between 8 and thirteen weeks. Then one morning they will be brown. Just like that!

The boys heads will be more round where the girls will be more angular. This makes the boys cuter as poults, but they also have much more out going personalities.
