Hurray for first eggs! You weren't kidding when you said she was at POL.

Wow, now that's a big snake. Normally we keep them around for mice control but not with baby rabbits around. Later this summer they can stick around when the rabbits are grown.

Good morning everybody! I woke up in a rush this morning because I was worried about the silkies. Last night was the first real rain we've had since I moved them outdoors, and the silly things like sleeping in piles outside their coop -- I was afraid they wouldn't have had the sense to go in out of the rain and stay dry. But lo and behold, they were all fine and cheeping at me at 6 am. So everybody got breakfast early

I, however, am the only one who got angel food cake for breakfast!

New baby cuckoo marans in the incubator, curled up against its egg-sister who was internally pipped last night. Still no external pip, so I'm going to go ahead and set eggs real quick -- they need to go in.

Happy Thursday, everybody! I can't believe it's Thursday already...

Good morning!!

Quick!! I have empty space in my incubator!! It's shocking!! After double and triple stacking the egg turner for 5 months straight, its breathing a sigh of relief. We can't have that!! It will get lazy on me!! Have to find some eggs to cook!

Morning all.....................

School is done for the summer, so now I have a teen home full time to put to work! We have 21 out of 22 cayuga eggs in lockdown set to hatch today and tomorrow. Feed delivery today to include 10 bales of oat hay ( I love this time of the year as we only get 3 weeks of oat hay a year and the animals love it). We will do some stock piling of it this year since it is a farm favorite.

thats easily fixed, go run collect eggs now and start prepping to set this weekend.

Lol, I actually have plans to turn it off this summer. Not sure it will actually happen. I have a customer that I have to set eggs for tomorrow, then I will have to test buff leghorn fertility in a month or so when they lay... But other than that I have no *plans* oh and cochin eggs ;)

There are times I really miss having a teenage boy around
