Just trying to think through this, but I know sometimes we do have swaps that happen during those hours, do those swaps not count towards the time limits? Or would it just be swaps that start during normal hours and sit overnight get a time out? (I don't care either way, just trying to think about how this would work).

I have a request I think that at night time when people are sleeping in bed that the 24hr rule shouldn't count.  [COLOR=0000CD]Example: Like 1am-6am no 24hr rule. [/COLOR]  Just a thought cause this is how a lot of us get our hours used up when people are sleeping.

I am not CPL but I think the time limit as currently enforced works well. I've seen swaps occur at 2am Eastern time on this thread. The current time limit forces offers to be changed around, allowing more options to be offered. I think it keeps the thread moving, which is a nice characteristic of this thread. I would suggest another rule, no swapping between 6am and 9am Eastern time so that Pacific time zone folks don't miss out on the actions. Just kidding.

I personally think it should stay the way it is. I know Im often up at 4 am, when it is midnight on the west coast. Theres hardly ever a time during 24 hours that someone isnt here online.

Ok, you guys have managed to change my mind. Swap on!!!! I too am often up at the weirdest times, so what the heck - let it fly! You are right, too, that more people have a chance to join in when the really FAST folks are taking a break....this coming from a West Coast girl, for what it's worth. I just feel a bit bad for the folks who hit the time limit overnight.


ETA: well, swapping is always a chance, so....heee, swap in the evening at your own risk! Love it!

I. too, am for keeping the limit at 24 hrs. - sometimes I think it should be less. Yes, being the one with the offer overnight does eat up some hours, but 24 hrs. is 1/7th of a weeks time. With about 75 swappers involved in this thread now, there just aren't enough hours in the week to give everyone a chance to participate, especially when the thread gets stalled.

I can post total times for the last 2 weeks that I have been tracking this if you like, but I can tell you that the swappers that do not get caught overnight rarely go over 2 hours total for the week, with most under an hour. So, if we were to eliminate the overnight hours, I would suggest that we reduce the limit to 8 hours or less. Just my $.02.

What if someone gets stuck overnight and it causes them to hit the 24 hour limit we give them a 3 hour credit? That would be easier to keep track of. Or give a 3 hour credit every day to the person who is up the longest the night before?
