Hatching Eggs / Paypal CHAT Thread

Please be sure and put the updated rules on the 1st page of the Swap page. New folks should look there for the rules, and not have to scan through the chat thread looking for rules here and there.

Thanks very much to everyone who has worked so hard to keep this Paypal swap going. Anytime you get a bunch of folks together, there are bound to be disagreements. That is why we have rules and a leader. It is not good to disparage the people who are doing the best they can and what they feel is right and good for the group. We either agree to play by the rules, or choose not to play.

Yes, I'm just a lurker, but I'm watching and learning lots, and waiting to "mine" some eggs when we are fully ready for them. In the mean time, I love just watching the swaps unfold. Thanks

I for one have started shipping "Spring" Tolbunt eggs. One individual who claimed a few Tolbunt eggs has graciously accepted an offer for chicks in the Spring instead. My birds are in Fort Knox, haven't had an issue yet and hope to keep it that way. I've stopped claiming swaps since I would like to get my incubator turned off for a bit this winter. DH is going to be gone from November to April and we're suppose to have a bad winter. I will have too much to deal with to worry about eggs and chicks.

Received my eggs from Wayne today. All 6 of them made it here in good condition and are now resting. Thank you!

.02 from an observer ( I hope to be able to swap in spring and am day dreaming for now): if this is a measure for heavier springtime trading, why not have two time limits? Most of the other swaps completely stall out around this time, so perhaps the 24 hour rule would work for this time of year. Perhaps a 12 hour rule could be implemented in...um...February and back to the 24 hour time limit in September/October. This way you could account for slower and faster swapping trends. You could also put in a lever of sorts (things are picking up/slowing down time to change the time limit). I think that time changes should be implemented at the beginning of the swapping week also.

I know this is an opinion from someone who is not a current swapper, but I really want to see this go long enough that I can participate.

I thought the 7 swap 24 hour rule was working well. Whos' going to keep track of rule breakers with so many rules? I can barely keep track of my own swaps, let alone anybody else's.

I have what (I think) is a Blue Birchen Marans from crfarms fluffing out in my hatcher right now!
