This may say a little to much about us PA folks, but the line at the liquor store is just as long as at the grocery store.

Lol... we lived in Orlando in 2004, when they had 3 hurricanes go through Orlando, first time in 60 years or something... DH and I thought it was interesting that all the beer, chips and soda and cereal were gone from the shelves, but there was a good choice in canned goods, you know stuff you can actually eat if you're hungry, the day before one of the storms hit, haha

Lol, I always thought it a funny thing about the way the men in our hunting club "pack" for a weekend at the camp-----thank God I'm here, cuz they never think about the essentials, toilet paper, food, water, etc...to them as long as they brought enough beer and whiskey to get an army drunk with, it's all good for them. God forbid they run out of their liquor!!!

Thnx, KYT. Didn't see anything this morning, but not giving up. Heading back to the stand in about 30 minutes, got a good feeling about this evening. I'll be happy even if is a doe....running real low on deer meat in the freezer. We pretty much grow, raise, catch or kill most of our food. Not much we have to visit the grocery store for, lol. I like it that way, tho.

That is awesome. I hope to be more like that in the next 1-2 years.... canning freezing, etc. My DH doesn't hunt, but we have friends that do. Love deer meat!! Deer burger is soooo much better!

I SO hope to be able to do this someday. I hope to be retiring soon and then will have the time and energy to really put some effort into it.

On another note, I bought some more Orpington pullets and hens today - 3 black and 3 blue. My lone splash hen needed some company, especially if I want to keep a blue roo with my splash. Now I just have to figure out where to put them all. Two of them are laying age, 3 are close, and one may be another month or two. Give me 2 -3 weeks and I should be able to offer eggs.
